It's a 'Homer' call on my part, but if you're doing a non-keeper league and wait 'til late don't be afraid of Biggio. Watch out this year for a power surge, he's bulking (not in the Bonds sense of the word) in his old age.

Lowell, Loretta, Polanco.... all of these are guys who should stick around and be decent values. Position eligibility is not nearly as important now as it once was. 2B and SS are shallow at the top, but after between 5-8, it pretty much becomes a wash. Meanwhile, OF is a lot shallower than people give it credit for. Wait on your MIs and load up on stronger bats in the OF.
Also, buyer beware on Mark Ellis. He benefited from a very high BABIP last year, and it's unlikely that he'll repeat it. (Just like it's unlikely that Nick Swisher will repeat his low .268 )

Everyone seems to mention grabbing Weeks late due to his huge potential. In a league of 12 fairly knowledgable managers, how early is too early for this guy? What rounds do you guys think will produce positive value?

If you are starting Lowell or Polanco or Loretta at 2b in a 12 team league, you are hurting. The only reason these guys should even be on a fantasy roster is if you play an MI. Otherwise you are just wasting a bench slot or are out of your mind imo.
Not for any reason other than these players aren't dropping to the spot I'd like to pick them at, I am not drafting Soriano or Kent on any teams. I've taken Utley on one team, but I usually end up drafting M.Giles, R.Cano, M.Loretta as a 2B for my team.

Who is any better than those guys when you get down to the 10-12th best 2B? When you have 12 teams, someone has to have the 12th best player at a position, and it might as well be 2B.
I drafted Loretta really late in my first live draft of the year as my 2B...I don't see anything wrong with him. He should get 100 runs because of where he bats in the Sox order, and he could hit around .290.
Besides, I'm sure some random person will come out of nowhere and be the guy I use the rest of the year.
