I was offered this trade Giles and Chavez for Piazza and Thome
5X5 league

Thoughts ?

if this is a keeper league, then i probably would. if not, then i probably would not.

I would do it. Piazza is going downhill. Who knows what Thome will do

this is a good question. Do you win this year or do you look ahead to the future. you can't go wrong either way. The only player I care for in that trade is Giles.

I guess I like Chavez ok. I just think Thome and Piazza have better hitters around them and will have better opportunities to drive in runs and be driven in. I'd probably lean towards the youth here if I had another catcher.

This is a keeper league but we keep only 6.

With that format I think win this year is what to do. In fact I am always going after the "win this year".

Giles and Thome are about the same age.

giles and thome are about the same age? I would have never guessed. I'd go with Piazza and Thome then and look to trade them at the end of this year.
