Beatle Paul gets special props for moving to bass simply because the band had no one else that could play it...the guy is a great musician, not to mention songwriter (probably the greatest pop/rock songwriter of all time).
Sadly, this is often overshadowed by the fact that he can be the cheesiest bastard alive. Forgive me, for I have sinned.
