Bonzo is the best ever in my opinion. He revolutionized the instrument, much like Zeppelin did to rock and roll. Carter Beauford is my favorite drummer right now. Barker is decent but I don't think he belongs on a list of the best. Most of his stuff is pretty basic, he just plays fast as hell, which isn't a bad thing.
1. Neil Peart (Rush)
2. John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
3. Keith Moon (The Who)
4. Stewart Copeland (The Police)
5. Terry Bozzio (Missing Persons/Frank Zappa)
Neal Peart is an amazing drummer. If any of you guys aren't that familiar with him, check out an early Rush album some time. I recommend "2112" as a good first listen, particularly to hear Peart at his best.
He is an innovator, to say the least. More than once I've heard the comparison that Peart is to the drum set what Eddie Van Halen is/was to the electric guitar.

I have to second this list (although I'm not familiar with Bozzio). Copeland was/is an amazing precussionist but his real gift is in composition. You just can't touch Peart for skill.
