I think I would gamble as my third OF. The way 12 man teams are going these days there are a LOT of OF left I would not mind taking off the FAs (Green, Alou, Drew sometimes).

So I figuire, if Bonds dies, or umm, you know, injures himself again, I have many options. Better yet take him as your utility as there are MANY guys on the FAs that could prove to have great years (Kotchman, Fielder, etc...)

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

he is a gamble.... too much of a gamble for my taste... curious on how much he'll auction for.... i can't remember the last time i saw "the unit" chase down a flyball or a liner in the gap... it's gonna be a big factor this year.... gl

Bonds is one of the most productive players in baseball. Who wouldn't want him on a fantasy or real team? He proved to be exceptional at the end of last year, so I'm definitely drafting him in the first five rounds.

Classic what not to do risk vs reward manaagement-wise. You take Bonds...I take another quality player who is a surer bet to play.

The same guy that was supposed to be ready according to reports in Feb of 2005. How did that work out? Let's go ask his pill pushing buddy Dr. Ting. You may as well ask Baker about the health of Mark Prior.

Depends on how far he falls. If we are talking middle rounds, I'd be wary. Its quite risky. Once you get into double digits, 3rd OF territory, hes more than worth the risk. Remember, this was a guy who was drafted in the first or second round only 2 seasons ago. I'd go much, much later in a keeper though.

^

The classic example of a Bonds hater letting his personal and political feelings of a player effect his draft strategy :-t

Yahoo has him ranked 110 but I think he'll go sooner, i'm looking at him in the 8th or 9th if he's still around. This might be his last year and he'll try to go out with a bang. 140 games is possible, he used to take off every Sunday. In Yahoo leagues I'll get a west coast LF to cover for him when he is a last minute scratch.
