Been playing on PokerStars this week, having a lot of fun. Want to make it to one of the Cafe Poker Nights but have not been able yet.
Hard to get good games on this thing honestly. Too many idiots who go all in on about anything because they don't really care if they lose. I'm to the point where I can sit in a room for about an hour and at least double what I walked in with pretty consistently. Trouble is I can already see all the bad habits I'm forming to deal with the idiot factor. And beating up on idiots gives you a false sense of grandeur, so I don't know if I'm really learning anything doing this.
So where else have you guys played? I'm definitely ready for something more challenging with fewer idiots mixed in. Is there such a place out there, or is that just a natural consequence of letting people play for free?
Since then though, I've added several accounts. Would take forever to write a review of all of them, but if you have questions about a specific room, shoot!
As to your question about playing with the toy chips, you will never find a solid game anywhere for toy chips. Endless supply of them, so why should people care? I tried the toy chip thing at Pokerstars to see what I thought and turned the 1,000 they gave me into 50,000 in under a week. Not realistic or fun at all, and from what my poker buddies tell me, it's that way at every site when it comes to toy chips.
You want a real game, play for real money.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Sweet thread, guess I missed that last year. So PokerStars seems like the place I should try. What path would you recommend for someone trying to learn the game at the next level?
The new party poker is really wierd, I don't like it as much as I used to.
The higher the stakes the less the idiots. Generally anything $50 and over will not have idiots. $25 buy ins, especially on friday and sat nights have a lot of drunks who don't know what they are doing.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
I'm still wondering why people care if they play with idiots. Personally I'd love to be the 1 decent player at a cash table and have the others be idiots. More money to me in the long run . Also, the reason lower limits have more bad players is because they bust faster at higher limits, but don't get the wrong idea I've seen bad players up to $10/$20 for Texas Holdem.
