Yes, you should definitely start Maddux. The Marlins are one of the worst offenses in the league so if you won't start Maddux against them, who are you going to start him against?

He'll have a bad start every now and then. The majority of his starts should be decent though. And starting a pitcher like Doggie against a team like the Marlins is actually a no brainer.

I'm not sure why JDH says the Marlins have one of the worst offenses in the league because they don't. They rank 8th or higher in just about every offensive category in the national league. I would still start Maddux, he hasn't given up more than 4 ER in any of his last 7 starts.

Rough first inning, gave up three runs on a Pudge homer.
Honestly, i would have started him though. Too bad the guy in my league didn't. He is first in ERA and WHIP. It would be nice to see that change.

Looks like it was the evil Maddux who showed up this week.
He was just taken out after 5 innings having given up 7 runs and getting 1 strikeout.
Sigh.

He'll probably be inconsistent all year with good starts interspersed with starts like tonight. He clearly isn't the pitcher he was a couple years ago.
