Jermaine Dye: Disrespected?

Postby BronXBombers51 » Thu Feb 23, 2006 9:36 pm

This is a guy who posted the following line last year:
74 Runs
31 Homeruns
86 RBIs
11 Stolen Bases
.274 AVG

He's not a top outfielder by any means, but he certainly helped my team out last season, and I don't see why he's not getting any recognition. He's a great cheap source of power and the stolen bases make him very attractive as a late round utility/bench option. Thoughts on Dye this year?

Because he's an Indian fan.

Because he's a very streaky hitter and odds are he won't stay hot as long as he did to finish last year. He's a lot like Geoff Jenkins just not as good a hitter(in my opinion at least) but with the SB. Both guys are great when they are hot and dreadful when not and they both are viable end game players though not someone you would want to rely on.

Hes got solid power, but expect a decrease in runs due to what he has hitting behind him. (Crede, Pierzynski, Anderson, Uribe)

Didn't he have the same people hitting behind him last year? 74 runs isn't alot to begin with, I find it hard to mark him down for even less this season (as long as he plays the full year).

Dye's not getting drafted as high as his numbers warrant because of his injury history.
