One criticism has been his low amount of walks and supposed lack of plate discipline, evidenced by four walks in 234 Triple-A plate appearances and a .303 on-base percentage.
Gomes is listed as a DH on the right side of the page under the Starting Rotation and Bullpen.
As for Huff being traded, it's been my understanding that ownership has tried again and again to move Huff - the problem always has been that they've expected a decent pitcher in return for him. Hence the issue, nobody wants to give up a sure thing to get Huff, who has had his struggles.
***not to mention someone who isn't known for his stellar fielding ability**

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, fellas!
Yeah...he needs to improve his plate discpline if he wants to succeed in the majors. 4 walks in 234 AAA appearances is terrible. Hopefully, he will focus on walking more during spring training...

I know, what is wrong with that kid. He was already 19 by then, he should of been taking walks all over the place.
I read somewhere today that Huff was going to be playing the majority of his time at 3rd in the spring. So, that opens up a spot for Delmon, right? I remember this because I yelled "yes!" and my fiance asked me what was the matter...and I said it was because baseball was going to get even better this year. I'll look for the link.
EDIT: found it here. You have to scroll down to Aubrey Huff.
It IS hard to imagine Sean Burroughs beating someone out. That's kind of a mystery signing to me. Maybe Huff can improve his D to nail it down. The TB bats don't look 1/2 bad w/ huff @ 3rd.

Yeah this is the one thing that really has me worried, I mean he has the power and the ability, but this is something that does not usually lead to stud material.
