Here is why position Scarcity is a true concept.
We will compare Vmart to bay like so
Vmart: .305 25 90 85 0+ average of: .282 21 77 80 12 = .294 46 167 165 12
Bay: .305 33 105 105 20 + average catcher .272 13 56 50 2= .289 46 161 155 22
That is: .294 46 167 165 12/ .289 46 161 155 22
This proves that Vmart is more valuable to a team than Bay.
How can anyone argue against this? I hope this quells the believe that Vmart should not be taken in the 3/4 round.
This is a fact.

How many OF is your average taken from? How many catchers?
If you are going to throw this out there, give more info...
For me, we will start 48 OFs and 12 Cs. Further, are the numbers for Vmart and Bay projected totals?

The averages, are based upon last years stats according to sporting news. They are projected stats, but if anyone wants to try the same thing with last years stats, you get the same results!!!

You can take V-Mart with your early 2nd round pick and I'll take Bay. We'll see whose team finishes first.

Obviously it is laughable right now but Vmart COULD be a first rounder. He was very unlucky in the first two months of 05.

October 2 6 1 1 1 0 0 1 2 2 0 0 0.167 0.375 0.333 0.708
If he becomes a 30 HR, 100 RBI, .300 catcher, he could be very close to a first rounder.

quickly let me say that I am an advocate of draft value. I would not take vmart with an early 2nd round pick. I have taken him in my draft with my third pick every draft!!!!! I am simply stating how valuable he is to a team. The fact that he is better than Bay and you can take him 2 rounds later is amazing!!!!!!!!!
