I know its not the same as Ruth, but I think it would be hilarious if Damon put up monster numbers for the next 4 years.
If he jumps from his BOS stats to something around .320/25 HRs/ 120 R/ 80 RBIs/ 30 SB's I think Boston's clubhouse will blow a fuse.
What are the chances Damon improves on his stats?
I know hes old and not "developing" anymore but what does the change of scenery do?
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

There is no way he posts better numbers this year than he did last year. He is about to follow the path of Bernie Williams.

Damon's 33 this year and will post average #'s ( 10-14 HR, 60-75 RBI, 100 Run type season for the next couple years.. Not bad #'s,)

I can see him getting slower and his bat speed getting slower with him, I agree Bernie is what Damon will turn into soon.

I don't really get the Bernie/Damon comparisons. I think they're only made because they played on opposite sides of the rivalry and both have weak throwing arms. In reality they're two very different hitters. Bernie in his prime was much better than Damon has ever been, and Damon's game has always been more based on speed than Bernie's. So, if anything, we should expect Damon to regress MORE than Bernie as he gets older.
But that's still a year or two away, though I do think his numbers will decline slightly this year.

You mean the curse of Jeter? No rings since he signed to 189 mil.
Damon might maintain his last 2 years, but i don't see him improving, especially since Fenway padded his numbers a bit.

I can see Damon's HR total improving slightly with the short porch in right, but other than that, I expect about the same numbers as he has been posting for the past few years.
