I've been seeing Coco Crisp fly off the boards fairly early. My question is...why? I thought it was because of his speed, but then I looked at his numbers...
86 Runs
16 Homeruns
69 RBIs
15 SBs
.300 AVG
A decent player, mind you, but not a player that should go in the top 10 rounds in my opinion. He supplies little to no power and his SB totals aren't all that impressive. Average and runs seem to be the only things he is very good at. Unless he posts closer to 30 SB this year, I can't see why he's ranked in the top 25 outfielders on alot of lists.
The guy reminds me of Milton Bradley number wise. The early drafting also befuddles me.
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

Part of it is hype....being the player that is replacing Damon (and partly his name, lol). He will gain some batting stats though playing in Fenway though. He had a .275 avg at home last year and a .323 away. Also, his doubles will go up with the monster in left field...and his runs will defenitly go up with that lineup. His SB's will go down I would guess, considering the sox aren't much of a running team. I do say he will be a better fantasy player this year....but some people are ranking him just a tad too high.
the fact that the red sox scored about 12% more runs than the indians last year, play in a hitter-friendly park, and he's backed up by probably the top 2-bat combo in the league.... is why people want him right now.
although, the red sox lineup doesn't look as solid top to bottom as it did last year, so... maybe a bit overhyped. but i wouldn't call it irrational or team homerism.

.295/20/100 runs/70 RBI/13 SB......Not too shabby...
HR might be a tad high, but a pretty good projection.
any guy who can get me double digits in HR and SB and hit for around 300 can have a spot on my team...but i'm not gonna overpay for him
i havent really studied too many mocks yet, but i'd take him as a 4th OF around the 10th
