12 Team 5x5 Roto (I drafted 2nd in a serpentine draft)

Hitting
C - V. Martínez (Cle - C)
1B - C. Utley (Phi - 1B,2B)
2B - M. Giles (Atl - 2B)
3B - Á. Rodríguez (NYY - 3B)
SS - B. Hall (Mil - 2B,3B,SS)
OF - J. Pierre (ChC - OF)
OF - M. Holliday (Col - OF)
OF - R. Winn (SF - OF)
Util - L. Overbay (Tor - 1B)
BN - J. Gomes (TB - OF)
BN - R. Barajas (Tex - C)
BN - M. Kotsay (Oak - OF)

Pitching
SP - M. Buehrle (CWS - SP)
SP - J. Schmidt (SF - SP)
RP - B. Ryan (Tor - RP)
RP - F. Cordero (Tex - RP)
P - F. García (CWS - SP)
P - M. Clement (Bos - SP)
P - D. Báez (LAD - RP)
BN - M. MacDougal (KC - RP)
BN - D. Lowe (LAD - SP)

My thoughts are that this is a decent team, but struggles in the pitching area. I didn't draft a pitcher until round 5 or so. For info's sake, the WW looks a little like this:

G. Zaun (Tor - C)
N. Johnson (Was - 1B)
B. Mueller (LAD - 2B,3B)
R. Baldelli (TB - OF)
O. Cabrera (LAA - SS)
J. Uribe (CWS - SS)

J. Towers (Tor - SP)
T. Wakefield (Bos - SP)
D. Wells (Bos - SP)
J. Marquis (StL - SP)
D. Hermanson (CWS - RP)
S. Linebrink (SD - RP)
J. Rincón (Min - RP)

Thanks for the input guys, and as usual, I will scout around and do the same for you.

Im assuming someone in your league tok Pujols over arod--- nice break for you.

Im not sold on Winn.. Thought last year he would be the man....This year Im passin on him....Encarcion and Lofton are two who are available on most WW and I think they will provide some depth

I think your pitching is SOLID, although it relies heavily on Schmidt returing to form and Clement finally pulling his head out of his _))

Your OF needs help. Otherwise it pretty solid.

I like your staff, as for your batting Utley is great but not as a starting 1B, also Bill Hall you need to upgrade as he will be a part time player.

Your staff is real good. Towers could be good, as the Jays look improved, but you might be able to wait on him. I agree, not sold on Winn and another OF guy would be good. Is Gomes for sure even playing everyday? I am in the same boat as you are with Bill Hall, not sure what to tell you there. He is a decent guy, and I really doubt the Brewers get a whole year out of Koskie, but you cant bank on that. Hall might be a nice guy to keep on your bench if you can afford it.

I like Towers over Lowell and Clement this year. Also, I would see if you can package Vmart and Giles for an upgrage at 1B, then move Utley to 2B and use Barajas (who I really like this year) at C.

A Bit of Advice

Postby Frenchiegangsta9 » Wed Feb 22, 2006 7:50 pm

in a deep league as yours, you need a lock starter, a premier pitcher to anchor your staff. try to trade up Clement or Garcia and another player for R. Johnson or B. Myers. And you definitely need another bat.

but not too shabby at all
