I bet you think Reyes is great and his OBP wasn't much over .300 for the season

Damon's was .366 last year, Ichiro .350, Furcal .348, Sizemore .348, Crisp .345, Rollins .338, Crawford .331, Beltran .330, Pierre .326. I think these guys are all considered amongst the best speed/runs hitters in fantasy, and Crisp is usually gone by the 8th. NONE of them have dual position flexibility.

in the tenth round....whats the avg obp for the tenth? i bet its better than 365. ill admit its not crappy but nothing to start a thread about either. its ok. like you guys have been posting, its about average.

I've been to a lot of internet boards over the years, and I've never had anyone question whether my topic was worthy of a thread.... what's up with this? If you are not interested, don't post in it twice.

+1, no need to get all 'why post a thread'.

OF get pretty thin pretty quick this year IMHO so anybody w/ 20 HR potential in the 10th round might be a very important pickup. Not to mention a guy who might be able to get a bunch of Runs and can back up/ fill in at 1B to boot. It also amazes me that somebody who looks like Wilkerson's Yahoo head shot swiped 13 bags just a couple of years ago!! 8-o

It's nice to see that people still don't understand the concept of OBP and how it relates to fantays baseball. I'm still in a good position. ;-)

There's a lot of good outfielders left in that 16 team league. You play 3 OF spots I assume?

Anyway, Wilkerson's OBP is higher than one would expect from a .256 hitter, which is the point that I believe the thread starter was trying to make. Considering most people are still stuck in the BA frame of mind even if they have OBP as a stat in their league, I think this is a good observation that some might be interested in. If you aren't, you don't need to respond.

well...it's useless if your league uses BA, and in Wilkerson's case it's fairly misleading, as he strikes out a ton, thus the spread between the BA and OBP.
