Ok guys a tough one for you. I want to open a discussion about lower tier catchers. Im in a 12 team contract league so the drafts are minimal. I need a catcher. None of the big names will be there so I want you to give me opinions on these guys or throw in some other sleepers that may be out there.

Olvio
V. martinez
Larue
Piersynski
Matheny
Hundley
Ben Molina

Yeah I know, mostly garbage but this is what you guys get paid the big bucks for so help me out, lol.

Unless key defensive statistics are in your league (PBs, Es, Baserunners thrown out, etc.) then don't even consider Matheny.

You can expect some offense out of Marrero and Pierzynski. 2nd tier would be Larue. Then Olivio. 4th tier is Martinez, Hundley, and Molina. Bottom tier is Matheny.

Keeper league...you gotta like Olivo and Martinez...Marrero and Pierzynski will help now, the others aren't really worth it . LaRue maybe, but don't overpay.

Don't forget:
Toby Hall: someone else mentioned him. I don't expect the same early struggles as last year. Unfortunately, Tampa stinks.

Damian Miller: was playing very well before getting hurt.

Michael Barrett or Brian Schneider: As of right now they'll probably platoon. But if either one was a regular, that one could have a decent season. Watch for a trade of Barrett, it's been rumored.

Pierzynski is probably the one to go with, but unless catcher is your only position left to fill, don't be so concerned about it

I'm a fan of A.J. (polish name) and Hall but keepa close eye on Cleveland. If Josh bard (Cleveland seems to think he's got 25 hr power) or V. Martinez come out of camp as clear cuts then nab the winner. Olivo won't start out of Spring with Sandy Old-amar lying face down in the dirt in front of him but remember M.O is only one DL trip from being the #1.
