Aubrey Huff (OF) TB
Upon arriving at the Devil Rays' camp on Monday, Huff asked manager Joe Maddon if he could move back to third base, and Maddon agreed, announcing that Huff would get most of the work at third in camp this spring, the St. Petersburg Times reports.
I guess this helps Delmon Young.

It doesn't do much to Upton's situation, he has made it clear he isn't moving ... at least not at the beginning of the year. Back to Huff though, I'm wondering if he thinks this will helps his chances of being traded. I know he can't play 3rd well, but maybe some team will say his defense is passable and make a better offer then they have before, who knows.
that's great news cause it clears up the logjam in the TB outfield somewhat and would you rather have Sean Burroughs at 3rd or Gathright/Hollins/Delmon in Right.
Leyland said, "We thought we were getting a hell of a player, but Neifi simply did not perform well."

Nope, we still have Gomes/Gathright to play RF/DH. Delmon doesn't start till Gathright is traded IMO, unless he just sucks it up and they send him back to AAA. But that would ruin any trade value he might have, so I hope not.
oh boy. Huff at 3b, Lugo at SS, and Cantu at 2b, I surely hope our pitchers turn into fly ball pitchers instead of ground ball pitchers. Hopefully though this will improve Huffs tradeability for the big summer trade.

I definitely think this bumps Huff's value up a few notches. Third base is fairly thin this year, and if Huff rebounds to at least his 3-2-1 average (.290/84/29/101/5) that's probably in the Rolen/Blalock/Chavez range for 3B. With the Devil Rays hitting better overall those R/RBI totals could rise a bit more.
Any Tampa fans know who'd start the season in RF if Huff goes to 3B? Does Gathright have that good an arm? Are they really gonna waste time playing Hollins (the 32-yr old prospect)? I'd love to see Gathright out there.
