Weird league. 8 teams. 5x5 + OBP, Slg%, 2b, H, and BB on the hitting side and Holds on the pitching side (heavy advantage to hitters).

2nd overall pick, got Arod.

Don't ask me how Abreu and Bay fell to my late 2nd/Early 3rd round pick.

I just feel like I am going to utterly dominate this league. Problem is, I go away every summer to the middle of the woods for 7 weeks, so my teams usually are vunerable to injury. This team just seems so strong to me though.

It is strong. I'd also look at someone like Papelbon to help Shields in Hs.

Keep an eye on the FA pool for CLs b/c you're a little thin there. And 2B as well. Keep an eye on Ian Kinsler for 2B.

I"d look to deal Schmidt for a closer.

I just picked up Baez for holds. Problem is, who do I sub out for him? Haren? Lowry?

I am not sure about dealing Schmidt. I am a little bit low on Ks, and that is something that he will provide. It might not be too good of an idea though.

You got some great bats, especially if Helton gets back to his old self. I don't like Webb a whole lot and ??? surround Schmidt. IMO, that leaves your SP a little thin.

I don't know, I love Brandon Webb. I have him pegged as a Cy Young candidate this year. His infield is improving quite a bit this year, and he has the most extreme ground ball tendency in the majors. His numbers were very solid last year (14 wins, 3.54 ERA, 172 K, 1.26 WHIP), despite the poor infield of Arizona.


Schmidt is a tough call. If he recovers, he'll be a top fantasy pitcher again. But yeah, my starting pitching has a few question marks. I am betting on a lot of young pitchers in Blanton, Cain, Lowry and Haren.
