Carl Crawford.... 1st round material?

i personally did draft crawford in the 1st round of a slow draft... however looking more deeply into his stats i dont no if it was a good pick. He is a 5 tool player but his stats and rafael furcals stats were almost identical. crawford had 15 points on avg, 6 more hr, and about 25 rbi more. But can we really expect him to boost his hrs while maintaining his batting averge and steals?

yes he is, ive had the 9th pick in both my drafts this year and i took him there both times, i loe the guy, his numbers should all be the same with a little more power is what im hoping for

yea ive heard of this 2... it might be a linguring injury as a couple "experts" have dropped him in their rankings due to his wrist..

Devil Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman denied any claims that Carl Crawford (OF) TB would miss opening day with the wrist injury that caused him to pull out of the World Baseball Classic, according to the Tampa Tribune. "He's doing well," Friedman said. "I think the most difficult thing he faced was preparing to play games on March 7 and trying to rehab at the same time. I think the rest has helped a lot.

Assuming the injury won't effect him too much, Crawford can potentially end with top 5 value, so yes he is justifiable a first rounder. If you use the search function above you'll find a lot on him.

yea, it was found that he has a bone bruise on his wrist, and it takes 4-6 months to fully heal. It's been 4 months so far, and Crawford says his wrist is getting better.

Crawford has shown that he can produce at the ML level and is on the way to improvement IMO. His 2004/2005 numbers were very similar, so hopefully he continues on this trend and gets better.
