Anybody think he'll make the leap into a top 5 pitchers this year? Anybody think he'll out-permform Peavy?

No to both, but I still think he'll be pretty good.

yes to both if he stays healthy all year. - meaning he starts 31+ games.

Who do you put him in front of? I think Santana, Pedro (if healthy all year), Peavy, Oswalt, Sheets, Halladay, and Zambrano are better and possibly even Capenter and Willis.

Harden put up alot better numbers than Sheets when he pitched last year....Personally, I like him better than Sheets and Pedro(will be effective, but not as dominant as years past) this season.

Sure he could finish top 5. The only guys I'd surely put above him are Santana, Pedro and Peavy.

I think people tend to forget how much this dude gets hurt. I hate when you project for a guy, and you have to say, IF he stays healthy. Harden hasn't done that, and i don't like him this year either.

I have him behind Santana, Peavy, Pedro, Halladay, and Oswalt. So I guess my answer to your question is no lol.

when did these frequent injuries occur? he was hurt last season, true, but he made 31 starts in 04 and came up in july of 03 and pitched a full august and september. this kid is 24 years old, and if you extrapolated his 05 numbers to a full healthy season (33 starts) , it comes out to:

17 Wins, 200 K, with a 2.53 era and 1.06 WHIP. while he wont put up exactly those numbers, i think he could realistically put up those 17 wins with 200 K and an era around 2.85 and 1.05 whip.....putting him easily into the top 5, and likely only behind santana and peavy, and very close to peavy at that.
