Is this really legal?

I understand that this is not in America but still, locked up for voicing his opinion in a book? Can't he say and belive what he wants to believe???

It is illegal to deny the Holocaust in Germany and/or Austria. It's a knee-jerk reaction law based on the collective guilt of those guilty of perpetuating the Holocaust, or at the very least not stopping it.

It's an amazing law to Americans considering the freedoms we enjoy, but an understandable one considering the history the Germans have to own up to.

They're austrians man, they have a much more suffocating government over there...

If I were in Austria there's no way I'd ever even mention the "H word" :-o

Here in America if someone denied that slavery ever happened they'd be publicly ridiculed and lose all credibility but at least they'd still have their freedom.

OHHH I being hard of reading read Austrailia rather then Austria...I see now.

I remember reading something about doing the Hitler walk or salute would also land someone in jail over there. JBL (WWE Wrestler) did the Hitler salute during a show over there and got massively booed. Read an article that said he was very lucky to not have been put in jail for doing that since it's illegal.

Not sure if it's true or not, but it was an interesting read to say the least.
