Oh I'm sure that he won't be benched, but he will see a loss of PT. That's all I am saying. He will see most of the AB's I would imagine, but he will lose a bit of time.

Yea. He still has some good years left in him, but I wouldn't want him wasting them in Montreal. It is a waste, but I would have done the same thing in his position.

I don't think he should be benched. I sure hope what was reported about him being benched as a 'punishment' was totally inaccurate.
I can understand things getting crowded if they want to look at Mensch and Sadler a bit. Glanville, Everett and Gonzalez gets to be a crowd. The right thing to do is bench everybody a little.
I would continue to give Juan and Everett the majority of the PT, but I could see them getting replaced more often after 6-7 innings. They are their best players, and have earned their spots. It is too early for them to bench veterans who are still performing well.

Juan is a bit injury prone so he might not have to be benched.

Only time will tell. It is too bad all this is happening, because Juan was having a very good season.

Obvioulsy the talk about him being benched was not true. Maybe it was to be used for a little influence to get him going.

does anyone know why he didn't play last night?
edit from rotoworld: Juan Gonzalez was on the bench yesterday with a sore quadriceps muscle.
Sure he was. Asked about Gonzalez's injury, manager Buck Showalter said: ''He's getting a second opinion on it from a local doctor,'' and left it at that.
