So I thought we'd retry this topic and get a little more discussion that is actually relevant to whether Juan is being beched.
Since Rototimes speculated Juan would see less time, Juan has started both games. Does this indicate the speciulation is off base?
The Rangers correspondent on the espn site also commented that he expects Juan will see a reduction in playing time, but didn't paint as grim a picture.
I tend to think it would be a good idea for owners to trade him before it becomes conventional wisdom.

Agreed, this would indeed be a pertinent discussion, and we're certainly not saying that this site isn't the place for difficult topics such as this. The key word here is discussion, however; when things devolve into mere flaming, that's a different matter, and not the kind of thing that's appropriate here...
I really do not have a problem discussing race in any forum. But to even state that the reason Juan may or may not be playing is because of the color of his skin, Is like saying that "Corker" was treated differently because of his skin color. The Rangers have said openingly that they are going to make a youth movement. I believe the decision came in the spring. It's not like anybody paying attn. to the game didn't know that around the trading deadline, The Texas Rangers were going to get younger. To inject race into such decision/discussion has got to be nothing put pure racism. period.
And just one more quickee ..
If someone is going to personally insult on these boards, you can expect the same in return. Everytime. I won't stand for it. And I do belive I have a history of going to bat for another .. if the same situation arrises.

Wait a sec...wrveres is one of the people who called me a 'racist' for suggesting race could possibly have some small effect on how some fans view him.
Now that you bring up race, wrveres, will you call YOURSELF a racist?
