the boston globe reports that b. kim will take over as the club's closer, effective today (sunday). I suppose all of us Lyon owners knew this was coming eventually........ :~(

I didn't think it would come this soon. I mean he's what 9 for 10, 9 for 11? Suprised me a little that it happened now. I figured he was safe until the all-star break. :,-(

Now that Kim is in the closer role does that make him an elite closer? Obvioulsy Gagne and Smoltz are awesome but where does Kim sit now?

i think kim will be a really good closer for a team that might win over 95 games this year...i would say he has the potential to save 25-30 games the rest of the year. :-)

I would consider Kim to be an elite closer. Last year, he had 36 saves, a 2.06 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. He could have had even more saves if RJ and Schilling didn't get so many complete games. He's just below the level of the stud closers like Gagne, Smoltz, Foulke and Wagner and about on par with Rivera, Percival and Benitez.

All I have to say is ;-D ;-D ;-D ;-D ;-D ;-D

My closers (Koch, MacDougall & L. Carter) have had an OK week but have been very inconsistent.
