I really don't mean to give this thread new life, but I've got a question. A friend of mine - also a native of Texas - told me that the only true Texan he's ever seen on TV was King of the Hill's Boomhauer.

True or False?

Your friend is full of it. Boomhauer is perpetuating a stereotype; and hilarity ensues from it. But I've met a few people who are native Texans and I think that Hank Hill is truly the most representative of the state.

What about bobby?

Also, they Laotian guy is pretty texan

Yeah, he's who I think of when someone mentions Texas. I about swirved out of my lane the other day when I saw a 'Don't Mess With Texas' bumper sticker, pulled around him and IT WAS A WHITE GUY! Shocked, I was.

So false it's insane. Hank Hill is the closest to a true blue Texan of any of the characters (not that there are really that many true blue Texans left). Cu nailed it. ;-D

I always thought Boomhauer was sort of a Texas Wanna Be, he's too over the top to REALLY be from Texas. Not that I'm from Texas but I did get down there for a nice visit to Port Aransas and Austin last year and want to go back sometime...

If you've eaten at Applebees in Texas, than you've eaten at every Applebees ever built. If you're in Texas, go get some ribs!

True. But man, they've got some good grub, and when the beer's half off as well, you'll find me there often. B-)

Maybe I keep missing something when I'm there; I don't like their food at all. Plus a guy I knew who used to be a cook at Applebees advised me that they microwave or deep fry everything but the steaks.

Aww, don't shatter my illusions Cu...

I really like the bacon barbeque chicken sandwich. :-L

And the half price appetizers like boneless wings and thai chicken pizzas are terrific.
