According to Marty, Kearns may be lost for the season.

Marty Brenamen, hall of fame announcer for the Reds
he limped off of the field, so he's not totally lost or anything

From rototimes.com:
Austin Kearns (OF) Cin left Saturday's game for a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning because of a bruised left quadriceps, according to the AP. He suffered the injury when he crashed full-speed into the outfield wall in the seventh inning. He went for an MRI after the game and will be re-evaluated on Sunday. He is considered day-to-day.
Doesn't sound so bad, but I guess we won't know for sure until tomorrow.[/i]

Man, I started to feel the Second Half Slump coming for Kearns so I sent him packing for Wood and Sheets two weeks ago. So far I have been absolutely golden. I think Sheets and Wood have outscored by 10 times. Now that he's hurt he might be nursing it for weeks.

The impact on the wall didn't look too bad. But, I do think that it is kind of strange that Mercker was sent to the the DL and ANOTHER outfielder was called up in his place.
Buy the way, why was anyone stupid enough to give up Furcal and Bonds for Kearns. I love Kearns, but I am in a keeper league. Bonds is more valuable this year and your getting extra with Furcal! Is this a keeper league trade?

The deal was Kearns and Furcal for Bonds.

Sorry, I misread the post. Either way it was a good trade like you said. Furcal was your backup.
