A new Fantasy Baseball league accepting membership for 2006

Postby jblank » Thu Feb 16, 2006 10:21 pm

I have started a Yahoo Plus league, for the 2006 Fantasy Baseball season. The league name is The Traditionalists, league ID# is 1690, password is pepper. I would love to have 11 owners from here join the league and hopefully turn it into a yearly event.

Here are the particulars for the league:

League Settings
Setting Value
League ID#: 1690

League Name: The Traditionalists

Password: pepper

League Paid For: Team-by-Team

Season Type: Full

Draft Type: Live Draft

Max Teams: 12

Scoring Type: Rotisserie

Player Universe: All baseball

Max Moves: 40

Max Trades: No maximum

Trade Reject Time: 2

Trade End Date: August 13, 2006

Waiver Time: 1 day

Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo! Sports

Trade Review: Commissioner

Post Draft Players: Follow Waiver Rules

Max Games Played: 162

Max Innings Pitched: 1400

Weekly Deadline: Daily - Tomorrow

Start Scoring on: Sunday, Apr 2

Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL, DL, DL

Stat Categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

This is a fun but competitive league. I don't want people that will quit or will be malcontents and ruin it for everyone. Its gonna be light hearted, but spirited league, where the winner will receive a trophy or t-shirt (your choice) from Yahoo at the end of the year.

The cost is $24.95 to join, paid to Yahoo, not me, and that gets you fantasy scouting reports, stattracker, and some draft information, overall a good deal. Below is the link to yahoo's fantasy baseball PLUS page, you can sign up from there, its not hard.

Hope to have you join and look forward to a fun baseball season.

Maybe people don't want to pay money when there are no winnings on the line.

Thats their prerogative, but for me, its never been about money, its about finding a great group of people to play and have fun with. Why spend $100 bucks for a 1/12 shot, when $25.00 will still get you a good competitive league, and a decent little trophy. I dont need the money I do this for fun and lots of others do also.

I've got 4 signed up, just need 8 more. Lets keep 'em coming guys.

Normally, I would agree, but with so many people that join free leagues just to draft, quitters are a big problem. Its much more fun for me and some of my friends, to pay 20 bucks, get some good, caring people, that know the game, and play a season that way. One advantage money leagues have is that people don't quit what they pay for, lol.

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I appreciate that.
