Patterson's worth a really late round pick since he has a nice upside.
Go in with low expectations so you won't be disappointed.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

To me it is funny how people will project .250 20/20 for Patterson and say he is worthless, yet this is not much different at all from what can be expected of Cameron, who everyone tends to love.
In my humble opinion, Patterson is still a good 4th OF option in a deep league. Views on him at the Cafe are distorted by 1) people who once upon a time invested heavily in him due to high potential and got burned and 2) bitter Cubs fans. So if you have a reasonable expectation for Patterson and are not counting on him to carry your team, you may be pleasently surprised if you get him for cheap. Yes he is high risk, but I would gamble on him for a couple of bucks.

I could like him as a bench player hoping he breaks out. However I only see:
.245avg. / 15hr / 54rbi / 18sb / 63runs / 37bb
Average is a killer to a roto team but some cheap SB's. HR's, RBI's & Runs average for a 5th OF.

37 BB? Are you kidding me?
As long as they don't bat Patterson leadoff, he might do something. The average still sucks no matter how you slice it. 20 HR, 15 SB, .260 average (I'm in a generous mood today, can't you tell?)

corey's a head case. do those guys turn around? he likes to swing a lot. stuff over his head espessally. just can't lay off it. also the first two pitches. if he can learn patience he will hit. what does that mean to us? grab him late, let him hit .300 for a month, then trade him for something more reliable. or stay away from him. I'd rather have Brad Hawpe hitting in Coors.

I am not touching Patterson this year. When he figures out where the strike zone is maybe I will have another look at him.
