Hey gang, good to be back at the Cafe. I MC Serch-ed (for you older hip hop fans) the boards, but had no luck in finding info on this:
We have a 12 team 5x5 keeper league. Is Yahoo Plus worth the money?
How does their "keeper style pre-draft picks" work? do you input all teams keepers as the commish or do teams do it on their own? Any info on this would be great.

My commisioner pays for a PLUS league free of charge to us, so thats good. As for the features, nothing realy stands out to me. The statracker is nice though, and live updating is always good. Also it provides you with the rotowire draft kit, although i find it pretty useless.
As for keeper leagues ive never done one on yahoo so i couldnt tell you for sure. I think the commisioner would have to do it on their own. I am not teams but as far ask i know there is not "keeper" option.

Thanks for the info buminabox. The site says:
What does my league get with the upgrade?
Live Scoring with StatTracker™ Draft Kit from RotoWire.com & KFFL
Official Trade Protests Weekly Scouting Report from KFFL
Expanded Buzz Index Prizes for League Winners
Expanded Who's Hot League Record Book
Keeper-Style Pre-Draft Picks League Finances Tracker
Latest Trades Tool Preferred Customer Support
So, apparently they have something....I just don't know what it is. Anyone?

And just to be clear, I don't work for Yahoo, so please don't think I'm posting their stuff to promote it.

Ok. I found out the Plus League does have a pre-select feature where it lets you pick a certain number of players to select to each team before the draft.
It Reads: " Set the number of players that you want to pre-select for each team in your draft. You must set an equal number of players for each team or your pre-selections will not be used in your live draft."
Sounds like thats what you were looking for. Hope it helps.

The pending law suit concerning who owns the stats by MLB players has showed it's first effect. I belonged to the stats fantasy baseball league for over 15 years but it announced today it would not operate this year.
The stated reason was "inability to get a license" the same proceedure that caused the law suit. It is interesting to note that FOX owns STATS and is caving in to MLB
It will be interseting to see how this manifests itself in yahoo and espn leagues. MLB uses the Sporting news format.
Any reaction?

thanks bum. I signed up. It looks ok, but I'd prefer they show explicitly that the keepers are in by placing them on the team roster page, but apparently, that only happens once the draft begins.
thanks again bro....
