Please help me....about the draft strategy

I just joined a Yahoo H2H 20-team league.
The drafted will held within 24 hours.

The league setting is a little different. See below

Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, Util, Util, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL, DL

Stat Categories: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, K, GIDP, E, FPCT, AVG, OBP, SLG, IP, W, L, SV, HR, BB, K, GIDP, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/9


As you can see, only 1 SP is on the roster.
So my question is, how many SP should I have to draft?? I personally think that 3 or 4 is quite enough though, and I think I won't pick the 2nd SP early in the draft.

Is my strategy correct?? Thanks for any help.

all depends on your IP rules.

however, given that this is a 20-team league with tons of stat categories, its all a roll of the dice anyways.

Try to draft a couple starting pitchers who have rp eligibility.
It will give tou more options.

I would think with 9 bench spots you would want at least 4 sp for the whole 2 starts/wk thing...but hey that's just me.

I would never join a league like this but that's just me.

I would go for at least 4 starters. As long as they are high K/9 guys I think you will be alright. I would try to get a couple of SP's who you can play at RP if possible to give you a little flexibility.

look at those stat categories though---IP, W, L, SV, HR, BB, K, GIDP, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/9 ---most of them favor relief pitchers. absent any innings pitched minimums i would focus on getting good relievers.

Randomly draft a bunch of pitchers, because this league looks like a crapshoot.
