Just how high are we on this top pitching prospect? Enough to give someone like Rickie Weeks for?

Tell me all you know...... ;-D

I'd probably stick w/ Weeks. His bat/speed is probably more reliable than Liriano's arm.
Just another amateur learning to paint w/ "the light of the world".

I'd stay with Weeks also. A 20/20 or higher at 2B is pretty rare and young pitchers are always more of a risk, especially when Liriano has had injuries in the past.

The wrong forum I know, but how would Weeks/Washburn for Liriano/Myers float your boat? I could do with a little pitching.

I dont like Lirano at all. He could turn into the Next Johan Santana in a few years, but now he is Overrated. He is at the Bottom of a Mediocre Pitching Staff with a Terrible offense. Plus, his spot isnt totally guaranteed. The Twins are full of Young Pitching Prospects. If he starts slow he might be pulled out of the Rotation. But Weeks, I like. Has the Starting job racked up all year and amazing forms of Talent. Could LEAD the brewers to a Wild Card this year if Pitching helps out a little. As for Washburn/Myers, thats a though one. I wouldnt do the Trade. But I do like Myers more.

I couldn't disagree more... Liriano is the best pitching prospect, besides Felix, in some time... The only few that are comparable are Verlander, Billingsly and Cain.

I agree that he is an Amazing Pitching Prospect with outstanding stuff. But that means nothing. And what I said ealier was for this year. I dont think he will be a good Fantasy Player this year for the Reasons i pointed out in my last post. I think Lirano and Felix are highly over rated for this year. Besides, just b/c you are a highly touted pitching prospect dosent mean you will be good. Brien Taylor ring a bell?

05worldserieschamps,
Is your real name Kyle Lohse?
Are you talking down Liriano because you think you deserve a spot in the rotation? I think that's the only possible reason for not liking Liriano.

I think there's a difference between being underrated/overrated and underhyped/overhyped.
Liriano may be overhyped because he hasn't accomplished much in the show, but believe me, with his stuff, he's not overrated. Even if he shows spotty command, then he's 2005 scott kazmir with a better slider.

lol. No, im not Kyle Loshe. That is pretty funny though. But, I wasnt "downplaying" Liriano at all. He has Great Stuff and is the Beat Pitching PRospect in the Nation. So is Felix Hernandez. But, niether of them has done anything in the Big Leagues. And I think they will both make big strides in thier Careers in 2006, just not worthy of the Rounds they are being Drafted in. Im not saying he is overrated, just overrated for 2006. If you would read the Post I posted 2 times ago, you will see what I mean.
