2005 Minor leaguers who are big leaguers in 2006.

Ok, adding on to another topic I started, I was hoping to compile a list of guys who were in the minor leagues in 2005 at some point, but will be on the 25 man roster come the start of 2006. Any extra guys you can think of would be fantastic!

At some point? That would be one very long list, no? :D

Anyway, I guess I'll add a "few" noteworthy ones for yah in no particular order, except pitcher/batter I guess:

Zach Duke
Paul Maholm
Jon Papelbon
Matt Cain
Jason Vargas
Chris Ray
Fernando Cabrera
Francisco Liriano
Scott Baker
Joey Devine
Bobby Jenks
King Felix -- why did it take me so long to remember him?? :D
Huston Street
Dustin Nippert
Jonathon Broxton
Jose Capellan
Travis Bowyer
Ian Snell
Ervin Santana

Aaron Hill
Corey Hart
Conor Jackson
Casey Kotchman
Brian McCann
Jeff Francouer
Jonny Gomes
Joey Gathright
Jhonny Peralta
Felipe Lopez -- actually, forget if he spent any time in minors in 05
Grady Sizemore -- not sure about him either
Chris Shelton
Dan Johnson
Bobby Crosby -- for his rehab stint :D
Austin Kearns -- him too :D
Matt Holliday -- him too :D
Barmes
Robinson Cano
Ryan Shealy
Ian Kinsler
Kenji Johjima -- he wasn't actually in minors, but I assume you'd include him anyway
Ryan Zimmerman -- almost forgot him

Maybe's, but might spend a little time in minors first for whatever reasons:

Justin Verlander -- good likelihood if he doesn't bomb in spring training
Scott Olsen -- probably also depends on spring training
Craig Hansen
Tom Gorzelanny

Chris Snelling -- depends on his rehab for the most part
Dallas Mcpherson -- same w/ him
Justin Huber
Carlos Quentin -- I would think he should start the year in MLB, but who knows w/ AZ

Well, that's all for now...

Well Sultan named pretty much everyone, one that he missed that could start in the majors is Hanley Ramirez.

Delmon Young might be up...depends on which direction the Rays end up going with him.

Ah, yes, forgot about Hanley Ramirez.

I seriously doubt Delmon will start out w/ the Rays this year. There's been zero indication of that thus far, particularly since the Rays still haven't traded away Gathright or Huff. Also, it sounds like Delmon's ok w/ starting out in the minors at this point (vs the complaint that was reported back around Sept 05).

I guess there's also:

Ryan Howard
Jason Kubel -- though he might spend a little time in minors first
Ben Johnson
Josh Barfield -- probable?
Willy Taveras
Jason Lane
Matt Murton
Ronny Cedeno -- since the Cubs didn't get Furcal
Jose Lopez -- worth a flyer?

Chuck James -- though not too sure yet
Ambriox Burgos -- probably got his name wrong :D
Jose Valverde -- only because of his rehab stint in 05 :D
Brandon McCarthy -- how did I forget him since I have him in a few different leagues?? :D
Jason Hirsh -- seems very likely
Fernando Nieve -- not too sure, but seems likely, especially if Clemens does not return

There are a bunch of other RP types I won't bother to mention. :D

Yeah, forgot Reyes and Granderson.

Oh, I guess there's also Brian Anderson.

But yeah, obviously, not all of these guys will be all that helpful in 06.
