Looks like the Mets signed Lima to minor league deal...

Odd move for the Mets. I'd personally rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than to see Lima trotting out to the mound for the Giants. Yikes.

The best part of that page was messing with the font sizes.

Lima should provide some positive energy...and will probably make fans happy, but not really a good move. Probably just insurance in case Pedro or Trachsel get hurt again.

I like the move. It may turn out to be meaningless but Lima is not as bad as he looked with KC. He's a guy who could step into the rotation if need be and give you a 4 ERA. Not great but not too bad as depth IMO. Plus he's just a likable character.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Classic low-risk, vaguely mediocre reward sort of a signing. It's fine by me.

Well Lima-time is over. Lima was cut per a WFAN report and Randolph said as much during the game, implying that both Diaz and Nady will be on the roster to start the season. It was fun while it lasted. OK maybe not. :*)

I figure he was just going to walk but he accepted the assignment to Norfolk.
