Depends on the level/experience of the players. Basic would be 4x4 (hr, rbi, sb, ave, wins, era, whip, saves) or you could go 5x5 and add runs scored and k's. Really it is up to what everyone is comfortable with.

5x5 makes a certain amount of sense as the vast preponderance of preseason scouting, theories, etc. are all geared towards 5x5 scoring. If you use more categories, the 'values' will be off a bit and people who read stuff may wonder 'why are we doing 4x4 (or 6x6 or whatever...) when all the articles say they're about 5x5?'

Good luck!!

Standard 5x5 is the best way to go. I have played in several leagues that replace WHIP with holds, and I've been happy with that, as well.

Also consider going with weekly locked rosters. I won't get much support for it around here, but I'm a big fan of it for H2H. Reduces pitcher turnover and adds another element of strategy when making decisions for the week. It's also nice if the members of your league are too busy to check it every day. Although, everyone in my weekly updater still checks the league everyday!

Yeah, I agree with the posts above, but I never liked era and whip together, because it just seems like extra credit. If you have a good era, you will most likely have a good whip. I like replacing whip with holds or the like, something that ad's players.....
