Bartolo Colon vs. Carlos Zambrano. The first time was a pitcher's duel. I have both and started both last time out (yes!). What about this time? :-? Start both? Start Colon only? Start Zambrano only? Bench both? Suggestions, opinions, stats, hunches, or anything else would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ;-)

Colon is a guy that I would start always without questioning it; he's a top 15 or 20 pitcher. Zambrano is a little more risky and it would depend on how you place in ERA/WHIP right now and if you can risk possible damage for a win and some Ks.

I'd start Zam against the Whitesox. They havent shown much offense this year and i'd expect to see Zam have a good game again. I have Colon and the same can be said about the Cubs that can be said about the Whitesox.. plus it seems to me Cubbies strikeout a lot during a game. Personally, i'd feel comfortable starting just about anyone vs. the Cubs. I'd probably start em both again.

Well I benched them both, glad I did. Just had a feeling. Here are the lines:

Colon: 5.1 innings, 6 hits, 7 bb, 6 er, 3 k's.
Zambrano: 6 inn., 7 hits, 4 bb, 4 er, 2 k's.

Got lucky with those, but Lyon went 1 inn, 4 hits, 4 er. I guess on the bright side, I also have Lowell that hit the 3 run homer off him.

Good ole Colon. You know.. im just gonna do whatever i feel i shouldnt do, and dont do what i feel i should. Like start Padilla vs. a hot Atlanta team. Didnt start him.. whats he do? Blows up. So start Colon vs a weaker Cubs team and what happens? Gets BLOWN up. Told another guy here.. start Zito against the Giants he'll always give you good era/whip numbers even if Oak doesnt score runs for him. What happens?? Oak gives him 5 in the 1st inning and his Whip/ERA get lit up for a loss. I wasnt gonna start K.Brown vs Ana because he got touched up last time against them but i didnt have anyone i could pitch besides him.. Although he didnt get a win, he did pitch a good game. So a trend seems to be forming for me right now- DO what i say DON'T. And DON'T do what i say DO!

All this is coming because after Sunday.. i'll have gotten my worst loss of the year so far. Because I didnt start Padilla and because i did start Zito,Colon.
