Here's my detailed analysis of these four players. Peavy and Pujols ended up closer than I would have expected as I went in with my best attempt at objectivity. In the end I still feel Santana and Teixeira are clearly the better choice due to what I assume to be Peavy's injury risk, which will prevent him from pitching as many innings as Santana by a significant margin. The rates are from Baseball Prospectus.
