Forgotten Prospects

Postby Webster11 » Sun Feb 12, 2006 12:01 pm

Who are some prospects who were once highly regarded but have since struggled but could still hold some value? Im looking for guys like BJ Upton, Gavin Floyd, Dan Meyer, preferably players with less than 150 ab or 50 ip though. Thanks

Well Upton hasn't struggled, just hasn't been able to get over his errors. As far as highly thought of prospects that have dimmed: Greg Miller, Cole Hamels, Adam loewen, & Dustin McGowan. Most of those are more due to injury than struggles though.

Well I guess what I meant by struggling is struggling to get to the big leagues and make an impact. Thanks for the info ;-D

as I read the question, Edwin Jackson immediately came to mind. I scrolled down through the posts and saw speedy already said him, but there ya go
The one constant through all the years has been baseball. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again...This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.

Adrian Gonzalez is kinda forgotten, though he isn't really a prospect anymore.

A couple of guys come to mind:
Chris Nelson-Rockies
Kubel-Twins

Both good prospects and still talked about, but are a being underrated.

That's a pretty good list of struggling/injury prone prospects... someone who I am keeping my eye on is Justin Huber in KC... I don't think they'll go the whole year with Mientkievicz, and Huber has great numbers at AAA (though he didn't do quite as well in the Majors last year)
