I'm going a league where we each pick a team to start off with. It will be a keeper league with 20 teams. The rest of the players from unchoosen teams go in teh draft. The yankees and mets are already taken. Who should I pick? I was thinking either the Red Sox, White Sox, Phillies, Cubs, Cardianls, Angels, Devil Rays.

I just joined one like that but was too late to get any good teams. I would personally say the D-Rays. Lots of nice offense at the major league level, and in the minors. So you just have to focus on pitching

If you want to win, then ChiSox would be my choice.
Although having a team like the Marlins or the D-rays would be fun also ;-D

I go either angles (some good major leageuers and good minor leaguers), Red S0x (good mix of major league pitchers and 2 top ten hitters, and some good minor league pitchers), or B-backs if you wanna punt this year and wait a year or two for the minor leaguer sluggers to mature. I would personally go Red Sox or angles.

I would stick to the NL for the bump in pitching alone. Astro's give you Oswalt and Pettitte with a stud closer and nice MRs. Not to mention Ensberg, Berkman, young speed. A flier on Pookie Wilson and Clemens is still a possibility.

I ended up going with the D-Rays. Good young hitters but some awful pitching.
