"The 40-Year-Old Virgin"

Postby Pacman » Sat Feb 11, 2006 10:23 am

Sorry if already discussed earlier, but I just got around to renting this movie and enjoyed it a lot.

It's one of those comedies that builds steadilly.. a little slow at the beginning, but by the end, well-worth watching.

Even the wife (Mrs. Pacman) liked it. The musical number at the end was excellent. ;-D

I'm curious if the younger guys in here liked it as much as I did, seeing as you're almost ALL younger than I :~( .

BTW: I'm watching Wedding Crashers tonight...

Peace

I know... I need a life. The Mrs. and I don't get out enough (two sons, 9 and 7) nor do we get to the video store enough. I may have to do the Netflix or Blockbuster movie delivery thing..

Don't get old guys... :-/

I thought Wedding Crashers was hilarious and great... but 40 Year Old Virgin was a better, more original movie in my opinion.

What can I say, I liked them both.

That's what I thought too, but I'm starting to like Wedding Crashers a bit more after seeing both over a few times.

Do you know what the best parts of The 40-Year-Old Virgin were? The extras. I don't generally watch them, but I enjoyed the movie enough to check them out this time. They were fantastic.

Top 3 comedy in the last 20 years or so, I think. Blues Bros, The Jerk, Dr. Strangelove - Those are the only comedies I've enjoyed more that I can think of.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

being a youger guy.. 18... i enjoyed both the movies.. though i believe that wedding crashers is a better movie, 40 year old virgin is just hilarious.. theyre both great i just liked little things that made wedding crashers more of a movie, 40 year old virgin is more just a comedy.

40 year old virgin is funnier...

-You know how I know that you're gay
-How? Cuz you're gay? and you can tell who other gay people are.
-You know how I know you're gay?
-How?
-You like Coldplay.

-Yeah, you should definitely tell her, because I saw this movie called "Liar Liar" and the message was "Don't" lie. ... And that was a smart movie.

-Wait, so you're a virgin? I'd tap that.
-Oh, yeah, you'd 'tap that.' What, Seth, you think you're cool with your little Jew Fro? We don't say 'tap that.' What are you talking about, Seth?

and the part where he is getting waxed is classic

Wedding crashers was classic too:

- Todd, I notice you haven't even touched your food.
- I don't each fish or meat.
- He's a homo.

- I'd like to be cowboys from Arizona or pimps from Oakland but it's not Halloween. Grow up; Peter Pan, Count Chocula.

- Yeah, her boyfriend just died. In a hang-gliding accident! What an idiot! What a loser! "Hey, I'm hang-gliding! Aaaahhh! Take a picture, honey, I'm dead!

will ferrells little part was classic and vince vaughn and owen wilson work great together

these are three of my favorites from wedding crashers:
- You look beat. Soft mattress?
- Soft mattress? Yeah, it could have been the soft mattress. Or the midnight rape. Or the nude gay art show that took place in my room last night. One of those three probably contributed to the lack of sleep

- Jeremy tried to seduce me! I want my painting back!
- The painting was a gift, Todd. I'm taking it with me

- Wow. Mr. Environmental is also a hunter. That's an interesting combination.
- I hunt quail, Jeremy. They're overpopulated in this region and they're decimating the grubworm population. You got a [edit] problem with that?
- Not as much as I do with your attire, or just your general point of view toward everybody here. But hey, lets go kill some birds. I'm psyched.
