well considering the government used him as the scapegoat in the first place you had to figure he would defend himself eventually. i'm not saying the guy didn't screw up but it was everyone dropping the ball not just him alone.

Trivia time...

Which President was the first to display this sign on his desk (a few others had after him too, but this one's famous for it).

I think it was Truman...although I'm not positive he was the first.

Regan?

anyways

Former federal disaster chief Michael Brown told a Senate panel on Friday he had warned
President George W. Bush that New Orleans was facing catastrophe the day before Hurricane Katrina struck.

Come on now. Did brown really tell Bush it was a catastrophe? Thats an awfully big word to say to Bush. he probably woulda called it a big boo boo or something like that.

So yea I'm siding with Bush on this one

Yeah, Harry S Truman.

Double bonus points for who can tell me what the S stood for.

It was a mix from his grandfathers, Shipp and Solomon, or at least that's how I learned it. I'm not sure if it was their first or last names, or a mix of the two, but I believe those names are correct. Truman claimed the period after the S in his name could be omitted.

Didn't the S stand for S? Like that was his actual middle name, the letter S. I think I remember that from somewhere.
