obviously like most people i am eyeing up guys like felix hernandez liriano, oliver perez, cain and other young pitchers to round off my rotation...but history repeats itselft and i dont want to end up with last years zach grienke...
hernandez is proba little higher cause of his production last year, but what round will you be comfortable reaching for these young high risk high reward type of pitchers???
also...
who will be this years grienke????? will it be grienke again???
greatest game on earth

THere is absolutely ZERO reason to reach for young starting pitchers. They are dime a dozen and you should be able to get pitchers late and off waivers who will come out of nowhere like Myers, Garland and Willis did in 05.

Really? In most of the leagues I played in, he was drafted very late. Plus his 04 numbers regressed from the previous seasons.

My league is weighed heavily on strikeout pitchers.
Do any other youngsters come to mind that will be able to get 10+ wins.
Felix
Liriano
Cain
Verlander

Well it is his 2nd year but
Kazmir is young, will give you strike outs and double digit wins.
You cal also prolly get him in the mid-to later rounds

good call on Kazmir..
What about Petit and Olsen in Florida? I know the team isn't going to be as good, but it's still a good park to pitch in!

This years Greinke will not be found because i don't believe anyone will do that bad compared to what was expected. I don't expect liriano to have that freat of a season. As for petit and olsen- I don;t expect petit to play for the marlins this year exet for a september call up. Olsen was considered one of the top left-handers in all of the minors and I think he will play for them this year but not have a major impact from a fantast stand-point.
