Anyone heard the rumor of Wells & Youklis to SD for Cameron & a player to be named later?

The article (not from a newspaper or any reliable source I can imagine) mentioned Cameron in CF & Crisp to RF. Nixon to take ab's at DH & play some 1B.

Youkilis has already been anioted the firstbaseman. The Red Sox have no need for another right fielder.

This trade would have only made sense before the Coco Crisp trade.

i can understand it happening..the pads have dave roberts who they want to lead off but they have cameron, klesko, and giles in the outfield already..but then again they have a young 1B in adrian gonzalez already so why would they need youkilis?

You know, now that I think about it. Castilla is horrible and in my opinion should be no means be a regular in the majors (maybe DH). So maybe the Padres could use Youk at 3B???

That is laughable.

#1 - They will not trade Youkilis at this point unless it involves adding a top tier 1st basemen. JT Snow will not be playing full time.

#2 - The Sox do not need to trade either one of those guys. So they would not unload them unless exceptional value were to return.

#3 - They do not need Cameron. OF is set.

#4 - Wells value will increase as SP's get hurt. He himself has acknowleged, or at least his agent Greg Clifton, knows he's going to Spring Training with the Sox, and if moved, it will happen then.

#5 If they could have done a deal like this to get a CFer without losing Marte, they would have done it in the first place.

#6 It leaves us without any insurance against the likelihood of Lowell being done.

The only way this makes sense is if they have another deal set up to move Trot.
