Mark Prior???

Postby Purple Haze » Tue Feb 07, 2006 2:06 pm

How will he do this year...will he finally stay healthy all year, and be a Cy Young contender...or is he overhyped, and injury prone?

Your Thoughts?

Thanks ;-D

his injuries have been freak injuries, i dont know if he is injury prone or just lucky, but after the last couple of years i wouldnt want him as my ace. id even prefer mark buerhle because i know what im getting. priors upside is huge but the risk is too

WOW...Mark Buerhle over a Mark Prior!
How many Championships have you won, with those type's of conservative picks?

Prior is a risk...but Buerhle over Prior? :-o

so you would take, Buerhle over Randy Johnson, or Curt Schilling due to risk of injury..or Pedro for that matter?

If Priors injuries were just "Freak" injuries, and he has just been Unlucky..His age would make him a better choice even with injury concerns than a RJ, Schiling, or even Pedro..because they are all injury risks, but also old... at least with your logic..imho :-?

(Just curious your thoughts)

Thanks ;-D

Mark will be Mark this season. The stats will be nice but this season what will stand out from the others in that he will get injured but wont be out as long as in the past. I’m predicting no serious injuries for this guy this year. If that’s the case without a doubt in my mind I truly think he can be a CY candidate and you don’t even have to give that any thought whatsoever, if you have a healthy prior.

For whatever reason, Even when Mark was healthy last season he wasn't anywhere near as dominant as I think he could be...He has an outstanding fastball and nice control, but I think he needs to develop a third pitch to go along with his fastball and breaking ball...He's tough to face for sure, but i dont think he will ever dominate leaning too heavily on that fastball.

Prior will be fine this year...he will have a few short stints on the DL, but nothing that will kill a fantasy season. For the record, no way do I go with Buerhle over Prior!

I believe that this will be Prior's break out year: Part 2. Enough said...
