Adenhart, Hughes or Pelfrey

Postby JohnR » Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:45 am

who would you take in a keeper league minors draft if you could only have one of them? I'm not familiar with Pelfrey's upside or MLB comparisons, but I do know that if Adenhart stays healthy, he will be noticed by everyone under the sun this season. I also know hughes has an injury risk, but is said to have quite a high ceiling himself. I know all 3 are somewhat far from the majors, but these are the 3 best pitchers available. Any insight, feedback or scouting reports will help me. Thanks in advance
The one constant through all the years has been baseball. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again...This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.

Pelfrey - Is pretty much a horse on the mound, has very good stuff & control. Also could move pretty quickly since he has good control and is pretty polished.

Hughes - Great stuff, if he can just stay healthy. The big difference between him and Adenhart is his injuries aren't serious and he has shown his potential.

Adenhart - The kid has already had TJ surgery that most think was from his delivery. He hasn't shown anything even in A ball yet, so who knows. TJ surgery is getting better these days, but there are quite a bit they never turn back into what they were. Stay away unless you see results and even then he is a health risk.
