Clubs League - represent your favorite team!

Want to run a team stocked with mostly players from your favorite team?

Seeing as the Clubs league I was in last year is no more, I've decided to run my own. Yahoo-based, free, H2H format (categories TBD see below). I already run a regular H2H 5x5 league so this is a second league for me.

The idea behind this league is everyone will represent a regular Major League baseball team, and before drafting you will choose 10 players from that team. You must always keep at least 8 players from that team at all times. There will be an offline draft to fill out the rosters after each team has selected its 10 players.

I'd like to get 12 teams, I already have 5 teams. The teams spoken for already are: Red Sox, Braves, Dodgers, Devil Rays and Cardinals.

Because this is a new league I'll leave it up to league membership to help determine whether we want to stick with 5x5 categories or add additional ones.

i might be interested seeing how the angels are still available...

but im wondering...if u guys are gonna have 8 guys from ur favorite team...why not their entire rosters to start with?

Yeah, I can see what you mean. I would think a league truly based on just rosters from the given team wouldn't be as competitive as being able to augment your team from the rest of MLB (outside the 10 best players from the 12 teams selected). We still want to keep some flavor of typical fantasy baseball while adding that different element of being able to take your own favorite players from your team.

This is how someone can pick the Devil Rays and theoretically still be competitive in the game. I guess we'll find out if that proves to be true or not.

The game is through Yahoo, but it is a custom/private league (as opposed to a Public League) if that is what you mean.
