Don't you calculate dollar values that would already rank players for you?

I am still debating Bay and Abreu in my rankings. I know there is a thread on that somewhere around here.
As for your firs basemen I would go
Sexson
Giambi
Thome

I am trying to determine which is more useless, Jeff Weaver or Javy Vazquez, does that count?
Aaron Boone and Mike Lowell?
Kevin Brown and a bag of rocks?

Will Thome be eligible at 1st this year, or will he be a full time DH?

How do some of you math people create dollar values? What kind of forumlas do you use?
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

Since you're asking, it sounds like you don't create dollar values. So how do you rank players without using dollar values? How do you know what set of projected stats is worth more?

This is the first year I have done an auction draft. I usually just to basic re-draft leagues. I am curious as to how to equate dollar values to players.
The way I always rank players is by using the tier method. I like to create tiers. I create tiers for every position and I also create tiers for the top 50 players...
For the first few rounds I follow my top 50 player tiers, then after that its strictly on positional needs.
