I watched Star Wars for the first time ever tonight...

Postby Phatferd » Thu Feb 02, 2006 3:06 am

I am taking a class right now that is all about the works of Lucas and Spielberg. We have started the class on Lucas and tonight we watched Star Wars...

It was the first time I have ever watched it, I am not a big Sci-Fi guy. I actually don't like Sci-Fi at all. With that said, this movie was a lot better than I have given it credit for. I think the acting is pretty sub-par, but the story is pretty interesting and its actually kinda funny.

Just thought I would share this with you guys. Now I have a 6 page paper that I need to write on it without quoting anything from the movie or reviewing any scenes.
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

You'd never seen Star Wars??? I thought for sure the two things every human being on the planet had in common were

1) Seen the entire Star Wars trilogy countless times
2) Receives weekly CDs from AOL offering thousands of free hours

Well, welcome aboard. Guess this list will make much more sense to you now.

Lines that sound dirty from Star Wars....

'She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.'

'Curse my metal body, I wasn't fast enough!'

'Look at the size of that thing!'

'Sorry about the mess...'

'You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought.'

'Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?'

'You've got something jammed in here real good.'

'Put that thing away before you get us all killed.'

'Luke, at that speed do you think you'll be able to pull out in time?'

'Get in there, you big furry oaf, I don't care what you smell!'

'She's fast enough for you, old man.'

Dang Ferd, I thought you were cool...

Seriously, I can't believe you hadn't seen Star Wars before now. Go sit in the corner.

My Dad raised me on Star Wars. I must have watched the trilogy with him and my bro about a hundred times...

Told you you'd like that Newcomer class though. He's a fun prof. You should take his Hitchcock and Scriptwriting classes too- easy credits baby. ;-D

I'm sorta with Phat here. I hadn't actually sat down and watched a single Star Wars in its entirety until last spring when the most recent one came out. I got caught up in the hype and decided to sit down and check them out. I've seen the first 3 but still haven't gotten around to the newer ones yet.

If you thought the first one was pretty good, Empire Strikes Back is even better. ;-D ;-D

Speilberg and Lucas? Well that means you'll be watching Gremlins and that means you have the best class ever. Or at least you should be watching Gremlins since they both had hands in it and it being a very under rated movie.

/Stripe was one of my childhood fears.
