Minor League Draft Help Needed

Postby krodisgreat » Wed Feb 01, 2006 8:52 pm

If Delmon Young is taken with the 1st pick then who should i take with the 2nd pick. So pretty much the question is who is the 2nd best prospect in baseball.

Well for the most part Hermida is the consensus #2 best prospect. He mixes good upside with polish, which can be hard to find in prospects. Though if he isn't considered a prospect anymore in your league, due to him being called up last year, it's a bit tougher on who to take. Personally though he hasn't had any time in the minors, I'd take Justin Upton cause of his huge potential upside.

AMEN! especially since the other guys mentioned don't qualify as rookies or have already been taken in many leagues.

Hermida and Fielder both qualify as rookies and both should be taken ahead of Upton, who is probably two to three years away from the majors depending on his defense. (see Upton, BJ)
I would go Hermida then Fielder.

Hermida, but he won't qualify for long after 40 ABs last year and the starting RF job this year.

If you want someone to sit on for a year or two go with Upton, Billy Butler or Brandon Wood (watch to see if he can repeat last year's run).
