Go with Zumaya...huge upside whether as a starter or reliever (though much more if starter).

go with Dustin...He's a safer pick, on a better team, will probably play ss and 2b. and if your league counts OBP he will be huge.

Zumaya is good but you could get him in the next round I would think

BP 2006 PETCOTA has him off the charts from what I've heard.

If Upton is still there in the 3rd, you should definitely take him.

Zumaya is close to the majors and should be dominant.

It just depends on how much of a gambler you are and if you want to take a gamble on a potential great who hasn't played a lick of pro ball.

Basically, do you need pitching or hitting?

i wouldn't touch pedroia. he's not strong enough nor fast enough to put up 15-15, much less 10-10 this year. and unless he's hitting over .300 as a rookie, he's pretty much useless. pedroia has two things going for him: he has a marketable name and he's a prospect for a marketable team, which makes him marketable. that's why people talk about him. but you shouldn't.

as for zumaya - a detroit sportswriter wrote that there's a 50% chance he breaks spring training as a setup guy. zumaya, himself is open to pitching in the pen. verlander, unless he hurts himself is pretty much guaranteed the number 5 rotation spot. with zumaya, i think if he pitches real well in ST, he gets a bullpen spot. if he pitches poorly in ST, i think he goes back down to AAA to log on innings as a starter down there. either way, i think his ML role is in the pen. his makeup (excitable), mechanics (violent), and repertoire (2 ML pitches, not 3) make him a perfect fit there.

who knows. if todd jones reverts to being pre 2005 todd jones, and fernando rodney & frankie german are still fernando rodney and frankie german, and with jamie walker being a lefty specialist, zumaya may even be a deep sleeper for saves this season. so i'd take a flier on him.

You must of been confused, he said he has Upton ... not that he is still available. :-b
