Wireless Access

Postby creepingdeath » Wed Feb 01, 2006 2:53 am

Damn, its been a little while since I have been here at the Cafe'. Its good to be back! I have had my head dug deep in football and hockey. I am really looking forward to a great '06 baseball. The time is almost upon us. Happy baseball season to everyone!!!

Anyhow, has anyone ever subscribed to the wireless access? I am considering getting a cell phone with internet access for this reason alone. It would give me an distinct edge when I am at work and not near a computer, if it works as adveritised and I can edit my lineups before the games begin. It seems cheap, only $3.95 for hockey. Anyone subscribed to it in the past? Is it worth the extra few bucks? Does it work as advertised? I love checking the box scores and such on cellphones to begin with, editing my lineup from a phone would be great. It would also be nice when on vacation.

I feel I have a whole lot to get caught up on. Thanks for any replies in advance. :-)

Well it works fine, but if you really want to be doing stuff using your cell phone as an entry device on the web to make lineup changes et. al., more power to you. Working a laptop keyboard without a mouse is hard enough, using a cell phone to navigate and enter text is pretty awful imo. Get a Palm Pilot or derivative thereof if you need portable web access imo. At least some of those have something resonbling a decent keypad or have the keyboard in software that you can use with a sylus.

I had a T Mobile phone last year and got their T Zones package for 5 or 6 bucks. I could check stats on ESPN and even check my league. It was good for me when I was commuting to the city on the train or out at bars without Internet access.

When I stopped commuting I had no use for it and canceled it.

Basically if you will be away from a computer for any length of time I would get the service.
