Red Sox Bullpen?

With more movement last week, can someone clarify expected roles in terms of closer, lead set-up guy and likely back-up closer in case someone gets hurt/performs poorly?

I think that if Foulke goes down Timlin will most likely become the closer becuase Tito Francona has tons of confidence in Timlin, and he would not give the closer role outright to Hansen.
And once again the great Bellhorn has landed on his feet, $800,000 from the Padres in 2006!

Really not a bad pen at all, providing everyone is healthy.

Lenny Dinarno/abe alverez will be fighting for the lefty spot in the bullpen. The Red Sox have almost always carried 12 pitchers for the last few years.

Look for Clement to be dealt during spring training... it seems like the Red Sox have given up trying to trade Wells.

Agree. I see Timlin as 1st in line (after Foulke) followed by Tavarez. Just don't see Hansen this year unless the Sox are out of it come September and he's had a good year at AAA.

And, if Wells is there, Manny and Ortiz won't do NEARLY as much damage at the buffet...hee hee...

They also traded for Jermaine Van Buren from the Cubs. He could be a decent sleeper source as well.
